1. Who We Are

Shoqi.io is the controller of the personal data described in this policy. For any privacy request or question, contact us at hello@shoqi.io.

2. Information We Collect

To generate your chart and reports, we collect: your name, date of birth, time of birth (if provided), and gender, together with the Bazi chart and reports derived from them.

We also process: your account email address (via our authentication provider); payment information processed by our payment provider — we do not see or store your full card number; and basic technical and usage data such as IP address, device information, and cookies needed for sign-in and session management.

3. Why We Use It & Our Legal Basis

We use your information to provide the Service you requested — generating and storing your chart and reports — which is the performance of our contract with you. Because birth details are sensitive, we also rely on your explicit consent, which you give before submitting your birth details and can withdraw at any time.

4. Who We Share It With (Service Providers)

We share data only with service providers that help us operate the Service, under contracts that require them to protect it: Clerk (authentication), Neon (database hosting), Stripe (payment processing), and the AI/LLM provider(s) we use to generate your reports. To produce a report, your birth details and chart are sent to the AI provider for that purpose.

5. Advertising & Business Insights

We may use your information to show you relevant ads within Shoqi.io. When we do, advertisers tell us the audience they want to reach; our systems match and display the ad internally — advertisers do not receive your personal data.

We may share aggregated, de-identified insights (which cannot be used to identify you) with business partners. We do NOT sell your personal information, and we do not share identifiable personal data with advertisers or third parties for their own marketing.

Where personalized advertising is offered, you will be able to opt out of it without losing access to the Service.

6. International Transfers

Your data may be processed in countries other than your own (for example, where our infrastructure and AI providers operate). Where required, we use appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses and provider data-processing agreements.

7. How Long We Keep It

We keep your birth details, chart, and reports for as long as your account is active so you can access them. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymize this data, except where we must retain limited records to meet legal, tax, or security obligations.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you have the right to access, correct, delete, export, or restrict the processing of your personal data, to withdraw consent at any time, and to lodge a complaint with your data-protection regulator. To exercise any right, contact hello@shoqi.io.

9. Children

The Service is not intended for children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16 (or under 13 in the United States). If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.

10. Cookies

We use cookies that are necessary for sign-in and to keep your session secure. We do not use them to build advertising profiles outside the Service.

11. Security

We protect your data with encryption in transit and access controls. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures appropriate to the sensitivity of the data.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy. Material changes will be notified and, where required, we will ask for your renewed consent before continuing to process your data.
